fun weekend
Friday I was lucky enough to attend the Sweet Tooth Scrapbooking & Reminisce marathon crop. I made it all night Friday & had to leave Saturday afternoon to be home for a family event, but I had a great time! I got alot done & reconnected with some great friends. I hadn't gotten to do some hardcore scrapping for quite some time & it reminded me how much I love to dive in & get some creative, hands on stuff done.
Remembering Cindy....
We found out some very sad news yesterday. Our good friend Bob {who actually introduced Dan & I}, lost his wife, Cindy Monday night. Cindy was such a great person & was a blessing to everyone who knew her. She has battled diabetes for a good part of her life & over the last ten years has had a leg amputated & a pancreas transplant. After the transplant, she was thriving, although if you know Cindy, she was always upbeat, no matter what was happening in her life. A few years ago she got sick, I think with the flu & wasn't able to keep her anti-rejection meds down & her body ended up rejecting it. So, she was back on dialysis & searching for a new transplant. It was looking hopeful last year, when a childhood friend of Cindy's came up a match, but after a long road, they ended up not being able to do the transplant. I think it came down to Cindy's antibodies or her friend's antibodies, or a combination of the two. She was on a donator list for both a pancreas & a kidney. It was a shock to hear that she had passed away, we didn't know she was sick. I saw her a few weeks ago at a church event & she looked her normal, cheerful self. Now I'm sad, I was chasing around after Lydie & didn't get to stop to talk to her more.
cute new pics
So my sister Carol came over last Saturday to try to capture some new pictures of Lydia for her 18 month birthday {ok, last week she turned 19 months, so I squeaked them in w/in her 18th month}. Trying to get this little girl in something other than motion shots is quite the challenge, but w/ her persistence, Carol ended up getting some pretty cute shots. Unfortunately, trying to get all 3 kids in one shot together seems to be almost impossible.
