Happy Halloween!

Spiderman
Thought I'd share some pics from last night's trick or treating.  Lydia was a butterfly {or in Evan's explanation, a butterfly fairy}, Collin & Evan were both skateboarders & the little spiderman is my nephew Paul... for some reason didn't catch his brother John in his ninja turtle costume.  They all had a great time. Lydia wasn't sure about her treat basket until she got her first bit of candy in it & loved going from door to door & putting another thing in it.  She was quite possessive of it as well, not wanting anyone to hold it for her!  Today she'll wear her costume to her chiropractor appt. & while we're in town, I think we'll stop by to see daddy & later on to Collin & Evan's school parties.  Hope everyone has a fun & safe Halloween!

fun weekend

Friday I was lucky enough to attend the Sweet Tooth Scrapbooking & Reminisce marathon crop.  I made it all night Friday & had to leave Saturday afternoon to be home for a family event, but I had a great time!  I got alot done & reconnected with some great friends.  I hadn't gotten to do some hardcore scrapping for quite some time & it reminded me how much I love to dive in & get some creative, hands on stuff done.

When I got home we met up with my cousin Al from Virginia who is back for the week for a hunting excursion.  Great to see him again, wish his wife could have made it back with him.... maybe we'll finally get to make it out there way in the summer.  They're great about finding fun things to do... especially with the kids.

We're now focusing on getting ready for halloween. Trick or Treating tomorrow night & school parties Friday afternoon.  Then, Friday night we're having a little get together with my high school classmates....someone said it's been 15 years, but that's not possible, right?

Remembering Cindy....

We found out some very sad news yesterday.  Our good friend Bob {who actually introduced Dan & I}, lost his wife, Cindy Monday night.  Cindy was such a great person & was a blessing to everyone who knew her.  She has battled diabetes for a good part of her life & over the last ten years has had a leg amputated & a pancreas transplant.  After the transplant, she was thriving, although if you know Cindy, she was always upbeat, no matter what was happening in her life.  A few years ago she got sick, I think with the flu & wasn't able to keep her anti-rejection meds down & her body ended up rejecting it.  So, she was back on dialysis & searching for a new transplant.  It was looking hopeful last year, when a childhood friend of Cindy's came up a match, but after a long road, they ended up not being able to do the transplant.  I think it came down to Cindy's antibodies or her friend's antibodies, or a combination of the two.  She was on a donator list for both a pancreas & a kidney.  It was a shock to hear that she had passed away, we didn't know she was sick.  I saw her a few weeks ago at a church event & she looked her normal, cheerful self.  Now I'm sad, I was chasing around after Lydie & didn't get to stop to talk to her more.

Our boys knew Cindy & last year when we were at a benefit for her, we explained to them about what was wrong & what she was going through.  When I explained to them yesterday that she had passed away, I made sure I let them know that even though she had so many troubles, she never let it show, was always so sweet & had a great attitude.  She was a great inspiration of how we should all live our lives.  Our prayers are with her parents, her family, friends & Bob.  There were so many people that knew & loved Cindy..... we'll miss you!

cute new pics

So my sister Carol came over last Saturday to try to capture some new pictures of Lydia for her 18 month birthday {ok, last week she turned 19 months, so I squeaked them in w/in her 18th month}.  Trying to get this little girl in something other than motion shots is quite the challenge, but w/ her persistence, Carol ended up getting some pretty cute shots.  Unfortunately, trying to get all 3 kids in one shot together seems to be almost impossible.
