new bed

Over the weekend, Dan was helping his sister move & she sent him away with a cute little toddler bed {thanks Donna}.  The boys went straight from the crib to a big bed, but Dan thought this would be a good fit for Lydie right now.  He brought it in & said he was going to take down her crib.... I tried not to think about it too much {boo hoo}.  We put it in her room while she was taking a nap downstairs on our bed & when she woke up we took her up to see it.  She was REALLY excited, didn't even look around for the crib.  She immediately repositioned her blankets & pillows & then proceeded to play peek a boo under her covers..... what a cutie!  Oh, and notice how she got in the first time.

I just realized when reading her blog this morning that it was miss Ali's birthday today.  I knew we both had birthday's in the beginning of November, but {big surprise} I forgot the actual day.  So, happy birthday Ali... hope you have a great day!  

{and just for those of you who don't know who this wonderful girl is... make sure you frequent her blog for some great inspiration & happy thoughts.  I met Ali a few years back at the Reminisce store when she came to teach some classes & I was so happy to get to see her again this summer at CHA....  hopefully our paths will cross again soon.}

Happy Birthday Brennan!

Just wishing my nephew Brennan a Happy Birthday today.  Brennan is my brother's oldest & is the object of Lydia's affections.  We haven't quite figured out why she loves him so much {she has several boy cousins}, but it's so cute to watch her reaction when Brennan comes into a room.  Happy Birthday.... we hope you have a great day!

.... It's bad to forget you're bosses birthday, right?  Well, I didn't actually forget, I remembered, but I couldn't remember if it was 10/30 or 10/31.  So, anyway, Happy Birthday boss man, I hope you had a good one.  

yuck

We've spent the weekend trying to clean up our house in preparation for an appraisal of our house.  No, we're not moving, but it hasn't been appraised since we bought it on auction & with the massive changes we've made, I'm excited to see how the value has changed.  That's the first yuck... I like the house being clean, but I HATE cleaning... & there are alot of things that hadn't gotten clean for a while (many bags of garbage!).  My mom has been helping us out also... {LOVE YA MOM} & we were talking about how wonderful it would be just to have someone come & clean for you once a week or every two weeks {hey, we can dream, right?}.  We planned on having Thanksgiving for both of our families here, so I'm glad it's getting clean now, so we won't have so much to worry about later.  

The second yuck is Collin... took him to the dr. yesterday & he has bronchitis.  He wasn't feeling very well all weekend & Sunday a fever started.  He's home again today, hopefully he'll start feeling better soon.  Evan had this a week or two ago & seemed like his cough was worse, so I'm hoping I got Collin to the Dr. in better time so it won't get as bad (I hope).  Now I'm keeping a close watch on Lydia, she is coughing & I'm paranoid about her temp.... I took it last night because I thought she might have a fever & it was below normal & it was like 97 (guess I need to relax, huh?).  Just extra worried about her since she's so little & in spring & winter she seems to frequently get the croup.  Collin has a classmate that's been in Iowa City for a while with pneumonia & we really don't want it to come to that!
