3 weeks....

from today, Dan & I head off for a little trip to Hawaii.  We have always said if we had the chance to go somewhere, that Hawaii would be our choice.  Luckily, we were able to choose a trip & Hawaii was on the list!  I love beach locations... we've been lucky enough to travel to Cancun & Aruba, but I've heard so many great things about the laid back nature of Hawaii.  Of course we're excited, but always worrying about how the kids will do while we're gone.  It will be Lydia's first experience with us away for more than a day, but we know she'll be in good hands between babysitter Kim & mama & papa & Carol.  She loves them all very much, so that makes it so much easier on my mind.  I have an incredible amount of stuff to do before we leave {3 new product lines to complete! & getting our taxes together...yuck}.  We decided to go in April before all the summer craziness here & the crowded beaches in Hawaii.  It will be an early celebration of our 15th anniversary, which is coming up in July {wow, really!?}.

I thought I'd share a few more of my favorite pictures from Lydia's birthday party on Saturday.  From top: helping her blow out her candles {she really doesn't like cake, but I made one just so she'd have the opportunity to blow out candles}.  Next two are with her new cozy coupe from Aunt Kim's family & Uncle Rick's family.  Opening up a present from MaMa & PaPa K... an Elmo dress that mama made!  She had to put this on soon after opening it up.  I couldn't resist the last one... there were a few fits!  Lydia was sooo tired on Sunday.  She slept in til 7 am & was back asleep by 10 am!  We all had a great time & we're so happy to have had so many people we love there to share this special time with our family.

New Bike {it's PINK!}

When Lydia woke up from her nap Saturday afternoon {please excuse the hair in the first 2 pics}, we had a surprise waiting downstairs for her {thanks Carol, Collin & Evan for putting it together!}... a new PINK trike.  I had told Dan last fall when we bought the red version to donate to our church sale that I'd really love to get the pink one for Lydie for her birthday, & as luck would have it I found it on clearance at Target the other day!  As you can tell, she was very happy to wake up to such girly goodness... I even found some cute striped sunglasses so she'd look extra cool while riding around outside!  Deciding to let her see the trike before all her party guests arrived turned out to be a smart idea as well.
