yes, it was too good to be true....

here I was bragging about our quiet night together at home & then Evan runs in the door crying & screaming.  First I thought it was no big deal & then he moved his hand from his forehead & Collin & I both freaked out a little {as did Evan when he saw blood on his hand}.  Once I got his head cleaned up a little, I realized he had a pretty bad gash on his forehead, so I called mom to stay with the other two & Dan to meet me at the ER & we were on our way.  Evan was freaking about the possibilities of stitches, brain surgery & memory loss {seriously kid, your six... where do you get this stuff!}.  Turns out, it only needed glue & he really did well last night & thank goodness, no signs of concussion.  Today he was back to running around & being his old crazy self.

thank you... your so nice!

I had to write a little thank you to one of the sweetest ladies I know {Patti}, who I ran into at Target yesterday.  I've always admired Patti since I first met her when Collin was at kindergarten round up.  She was helping test the kids & it was an EXTREMELY stressful situation for Collin.  She was so sweet to both of us & really brought Collin around & made things sooo much easier.  Anyway, back to yesterday... I was in the store & was looking at some clothes & saw Patti walk in & she looked my way & so I said "oh, hi!".  She looked at me a bit odd & went on her way.  Hmmm, I thought, that was a little strange.  Well a bit later, I was in another part of the store & heard "Hi Robyn!".  There she was again & she went on to make my day by telling me she didn't quite recognize me at first since I had lost some weight & that I looked great.  I tell ya, I could've hugged that woman!  It was just what I needed to hear, I've been a little frustrated with my progress lately & of course stressed about being in a swimsuit for vacation.  So, I just had to let you know Patti, thank you thank you thank you {I didn't mention, you looked great too, but you always do!}.

aaaahhhh.... HOME

I have to say, I'm very excited to have a night at home tonight with all of us together.  It seems we've been busy with something all week & finally have an evening that we can just hang out as a family.  The bonus is that it's Thursday... which means the Office is on... plus, there's TWO new episodes tonight!  Since the boys don't have school tomorrow, I promised them that they could stay up & watch.  Figured I'd make a nice spaghetti meal for everyone {one of everyone's favorites}.  The other great thing is that we don't have to get anyone off to school, babysitter & I don't have to be anywhere in the a.m., so we can all hang out in our pjs for a while {my ultimate dream would be that all children would sleep until at least 7:30}.  Well, a mom can dream, right?

Collin & Evan were good sports this morning while I got my glow on & sat in the salon patiently with some donuts, which is a rare treat.  Then it was back home where Evan & Collin played outside with cars in the dirt, Evan picked up sticks {he's eagerly anticipating having a campfire soon} & Collin did some veggin' out in front of the tv.  Evan had to call Gma K to see if he could spend some time with her {he's always got something he's wanting her to do}.  I've gotten some laundry, dishes, work WORK, treadmill time & even a little time on the blog!  WOW!

yes & no

So with our vacation so close, everyone's been asking if we're ready to leave.  Well my answer is yes & no.  I still have so much design work to do, so much to get ready before we leave, lists for info on the kids comings & goings, Easter stuff to get {before the kids are out for Easter break tomorrow afternoon}, etc, etc.  We've been trying to think what we really want to do when we get to Oahu & have gotten some good suggestions.  We know for sure we want to visit Pearl Harbor & go snorkeling, but other than that we haven't made too many plans.  Planning on deciding more once we arrive.  Since we only have 3 full days there, it will be hard to decide!  Relaxation is definitely on the menu.  I'm always worried about leaving the kids & since Lydia has never really been without both of us, I'm wondering how she'll do.  She's still dealing with teeth issues & has been getting up 1-2x a night, but hopefully she won't give mama too much drama while we're gone.  I'm sort of glad the boys will be around the next several days on their break before we leave & I'm planning on getting in an extra day with Lydie next week.

sleet, snow, beetles, hair & ears

sounds interesting, right?  Well that seems to sum up our weekend around here.  Friday started out with a visit to the doc for Lydia, who was looking quite horrible by Thursday evening when I picked her up at the babysitter.  Turns out, she had her first ear infection.  I think her & Evan are dealing with a little seasonal allergy crud.  She seems to be feeling a little better today, but is also drooling like crazy from the 4 eye teeth she is trying to get through.  We've also been going nuts with all the beetles roaming our rooms... thank goodness the bug guys come tomorrow to knock most of them out... yuck!  I treated myself to a new hairdo yesterday as well.  My friend Pam gave me a fab new do & some great new highlights.  I feel soooo much better!  Then the crazy progression of sleet, HUGE snowflakes, more sleet, & more snow!  Jeez, I'm just glad it's pretty much gone already.  It just makes me even more ready for the beach!
