memories

While going through my iPhoto library I found this pic.  Oh my, what happened to those little boys?  My sister Carol took this picture the summer we bought this house.  We were working overtime trying to get the house in shape & was so glad that Carol had her camera in hand that summer so I have these memories.  It's so crazy to think all I probably missed w/ the boys over the course of our year long remodeling.  We love our house, but sometimes I wish I could have that time back to enjoy that time together.  We're still remodeling a little at a time, but at least now we're all together in the same house!

Sunday we all traveled to Tiffin to see my sis Kathy & her family.  After we all got haircuts Kathy & I ventured out for a little shopping.  After drooling over lots of things at Von Mar, we headed to Target, where I found these super cute flats for $12.99!  Have I mentioned how much I love Target?  Yep, think they'll be among my faves...

I had to share these pictures my sister took last night before Dan & I ventured out for our anniversary dinner together.  {by the way... thanks Carol for watching the kiddos}  Love the candids.  We had an awesome time last night.  First, dinner at Martini's {omg.  it was amazing... great food, great drinks & just enjoying the time together}.  Then, a little shopping.  Then home to put kids to bed & enjoy a peaceful evening on the porch with a bottle of champagne!  It was so quiet & lovely out.  Thanks, Dan for a wonderful anniversary!  

15 years...

today.  I can hardly believe that Dan & I have been married that long!  It's been quite the journey. We started young {I was 19, Dan 24} & have been through so many life changes together.  I'm so happy that I've had Dan with me along the way.  Now, 15 years later, we have 3 beautiful children together, a house that we've worked so hard together to make into what we've always dreamed of... a home for our family & a love that although sometimes is tested, will never be broken.  We've shared so many dreams over the years & am happy to say we've made many of them come true.  I can also say that we're in so much of a better place than we ever thought we'd be.  We have been truly blessed.

Evan is Seven!!!

Yep.  Today is Evan's 7th birthday!  Over the weekend we had party for him & cousin Avery at our house.  We had cheeseburgers grilled by uncle Rick, green salad by grandma K & apple crisp {all that Evan had requested}.  There were a few things we didn't get to do, like apple bobbing & camping out in the tent, but we had a great time anyway.  It started out super hot, then we had some slightly scary thunderstorms rumble through & send the tent across the yard.  Evan happily received some cash presents so he could go shopping for some of the many things he's been wanting.  He also recieved a cool Cardinals jersey & a gift for Collin & him to share... a wii!  They were both super excited about that one!

Today he started out his day w/ me singing him happy birthday while he ate breakfast.  Then they were all off to the babysitters w/ brownies & candles.  He's very excited about going to the sitters today, he's anxiously awaiting opening her gift to him.  Swimming lessons & then tonight I think we'll go to the swimming pool & grab Evan's choice for supper.  This morning Dan was commenting how he wasn't 6 anymore & I told him he'll never be 6 again :(  Of course he replied that he was glad... he was tired of being 6!  Typical Evan. Happy Birthday Evan... we love you so very much.
