I have something really SUPER for you today...

Even though we haven't gotten to see the avengers YET... we're big fans of the superhero movies around here.  I've been wanting to do a kit like this for a while & I just had to squeeze it in this week! I was going for a slightly offset print look in the papers & elements to mimic a comic book look... I hope all you superhero fans love it!  Plus it's just a really fun kit for boys & I've been getting a lot of requests for boy kits!  Oh... & how fun would it be to put together invites & printables for a superhero birthday party?!?!

new dollar kit & inspiration

first of all I'd like to thank everyone who joined in the festivities of iNSD at Design House Digital & for the release of Everyday Storyteller... what an exciting week it was!  Make sure if you want a print copy of Everyday Storyteller that you pre-order by Friday of this week... after that it will only be available in e-book format {you can click the image at the right to take you where you need to go}.

I just put up another dollar kit in the shop yesterday afternoon... it will be just a dollar for today & tomorrow & then returns to it's regular price!

just so you know... I'm a horrible decision maker... & I couldn't decide... between these layouts & their awesome galleries... geesh. Their styles really clicked with me & thought they'd both work so well with my designs. So I just decided this morning... what the heck, I'm the boss... I'll choose 2 {TWO} guest creative team members!  I can always use more awesome ladies to help spread the word about pink trike design!  So, there is it, in my slightly overly worded explanation... Becca Dickson & Claudia Harvey... welcome to the team :) YAY!!!! so excited to start working with you both!

DHD iNSD Blog Hop

welcome to my blog... so glad you made it here & I hope you're having a great time "hopping" along, getting some great tips & tricks, challenges & collecting your letters so you can get your free {awesome} collab kit too...

Here's a layout I put together with the kit! my latest obsession in scrapbooking is trying my best to create a layered effect with patterned paper & elements under, around & on top of my photo{s}. it's really easy & I think it adds a lot of focus to the most important part of your page... the photo!

here's how I do it: I start with my photo. I love the look of a frame around my photos & it really compliments the layered look. This one I took with my iPhone & I processed it in an app called Instant 110. Then I always use my favorite shadow actions from Gen. For the photo I usually use the Paper Raised action & for most paper items below, like the flat elements & such, I use the Paper Flat action. You don't have to use the papers for pattern under your photos, either. Here I used a couple journaling cards under the photo & then added more elements on top of the photo to help with the layered look. I like to tilt things here & there to add a more relaxed look to the page. Have you tried adding more layers to your layout?
