new dollar kit 8.19

hey everyone... we're winding down our summertime here, as our kids start school Wednesday.  I'm suddenly apprehensive about this upcoming week.  Through the summer I go through the love of no schedule, lazy days, swimming pools & especially no homework drama.... but then there are days I am SO ready for them to go back & have that set schedule & have some time alone to work un-interrupted.  This year is definitely going to be different, as Lydia enters full day Kindergarten, she'll be riding the bus with her brothers, so that means all three up, dressed, fed & out the door by about 7:15.  Of course the boys know the drill {usually with some prodding} & are usually early risers, but their sister isn't used to having to be out of her pajamas by that time at all :)  I'm sure we'll survive...

anyway, I have another dollar kit in the shop today that coordinates with my Hit the Books kits very well...

ok, so I'm late posting these, they were both released earlier, but I've been taking some extra time lately with the family before school starts, so I've been taking it easy & being lazy ;) So I figured better late than never {especially because I had to share what my amazing creative team did with them}!  remember these are part of the August dollar days, so they'll stay a dollar until the end of August & then return to regular price after that.

we're trying to get last minute school supply & uniform shopping done, since school starts next week, dentist appointments & later this week, one last fun trip for the summer to amusement/water park for all of us!

new releases 8.2

I have a new release today... & as much as I don't like to admit it... it's a back to school theme.  As always, I'm having mixed feelings about school starting again.  I enjoy our more relaxed summer schedule, no stress of homework & over-tired kids.  But I am looking forward to having the house to myself for those hours while all three of our kids are in school full time this year.  This will be a novel thing... being able to work pretty much un-interrupted through the day.  Anyway, I love the colors & I tried to make it simple & to the point... versatile enough to be used for so much more than school pages too.

August Dollar Days & August House Party

I know it's only Wednesday... but there are two new fun & exciting things happening starting today at DHD! thirteen.

Dan & I are now officially parents of a teenager.  Our baby is thirteen... how.is.this.possible?

Thirteen years ago on July 28, I woke Dan up very confused... my water had broke 3 weeks ahead of my due date.  24 hours of labor later, on July 29th... an emergency c-section & we became parents for the first time.  A perfect, adorable, blue eyed, chubby cheeked little man, with what looked like a perfect haircut from the get-go. Collin Daniel.  Even then, he was quiet, extremely lovable, very sweet, but with a little drama, a little temper if things didn't go just right.

Over the years it's been much of the same, just intensified as the years go on.  Still extremely lovable &  sweet, still shy & quiet, easily hurt feelings & still the drama that comes & goes.  I can't believe how much time has passed... in many ways we've all grown together, learning from each other in the many mistakes that of course happen with raising your first kid.  We love you so much, Collin & are very proud of the young man you're becoming.  Happy birthday Collin, I hope you enjoyed your party with your friends & your special day with us, too.
